Craniofacial Anomalies
This is a collaborative study with the University of North Carolina to explore the use of a novel and non-invasive assessment procedure to determine adequacy of velopharyngeal function in infants/toddlers soon after cleft palate surgery. The goal of this project is to examine the familiality of acoustical and anatomical measures n developmental phonological disorders. Hearing loss
This study is a prospective, non-randomized evaluation of the subjective and objective vestibular/balance disorders in patients with Chiari Type I malformation whose symptoms have justified surgical decompression. This is a prospective pilot study to evaluate the time course and degree of ototoxicity of platinum based chemotherapy in pediatric patients. The purpose of this study is to examine whether otitis media disrupts the function of the inner ear and to examine the efficacy of tympanostomy tube placement in relieving such disruption. The long-term goal of this study is to examine if measures of auditory, speech and vestibular abilities could be used as potential appropriate scale for future trials. Balance and Vestibular Disorders
